Who is Anna Marie?

Anna Marie McCutchen was born in Detroit, MI, and has been involved in gospel music for more than 15 years. She grew up listening to legendary artists such as Shirley Ceasar, CeCe Winans, Vicki Winans, and Karen Clark to name a few. These talented women of God inspired Anna to begin singing in the church choir and eventually, she was doing solo performances. Anna received a revelation from God about His plan for her, and soon after, she started writing her own songs.

While studying criminal justice at Wayne State University, Anna was given the opportunity to travel to Alpharetta, GA, where she recorded her first single, “Yes Lord”. She subsequently recorded another single called “Bless You Back”, which opened the doors for her to perform at local churches in and around Detroit, MI, including Solomon’s Temple, Faith Clinic, Jesus Tabernacle, King David Missionary Baptist Church and countless others. She is currently a member of Mountain Top International Word Ministry located at 24061 Coolidge Hwy Oak Park, MI, where Bishop Donney Faulk is the pastor.

In 2009, Anna called on producer Walt Nelson to create a musical arrangement for a song that she wrote called “Detroit Shine”. Since then, the two have collaborated on several song projects that continue to grow Anna’s music ministry.

Anna has made several television appearances, including the Bobby Jones Gospel Show, some local appearances on TV33 and TV38, and her most recent appearance was on TBN (Television Broadcast Network). In the area of radio, Anna’s music has been heard on 1340AM, 1440AM and other Gospel music stations in the Metro Detroit area.

Anna Marie continues to work on new projects, and was pleased to work with her god sister Carmen Nicole Frye, who is a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. Their first song together was entitled “Sweet Jesus”, written by Anna Marie. Sister Carmen has been a blessing to Anna Marie’s gospel ministry by lending both her voice and creative energy to its progress. Together, they have completed a six song project together entitled “Don’t Give Up”. The title song has inspired them to create a video that hopefully, will touch the lives of masses in a mighty way.
